Shoe Care guide
Discover the quick guide to caring for your shoes – here, explained in three easy steps. For a more detailed version, explore our complete Shoe Care guide.
1. Clean
Start by cleaning your shoes to create a blank canvas for the following shoe care products. Use a shoe brush to remove excess dirt, followed by a damp cloth or shoe cleaner.
2. Care
The second step is to refresh and nourish the shoes with a suitable product; use a shoe cream, wax or suede renovator, depending on the material. Let it set for at least 24 hours.
3. Protect
The third step is crucial to protect the shoes from dirt and dampness and to ensure water-repellent protection. Use a water-based protection spray for any material and/or wax for leather.
4. Store
When not using your shoes, wipe them off and keep them in their shoe box or your closet for storage between seasons. Use a shoe tree to help maintain the shape of your shoes.

Maintain shape
In-between wearing, it’s essential to maintain the shoe’s shape. For low shoes, use shoe trees that naturally absorb moisture while keeping the shape in check. Apart from this, use a shoehorn to protect the shoe’s back counter.
For your tall boots, use boot stands to ensure the shaft and zipper remain in good condition.
Care by repair
Prolonging the shoe’s lifespan goes beyond just using the appropriate shoe care products. When your shoes start to wear down, it increases the risk of damage and tears. The best way to maintain the condition of your Vagabond footwear is to bring them to your nearest cobbler or Vagabond store to assess whether the damage can be repaired. We always strive to repair our shoes in the best way we can, making sure you get the most use out of them by letting them live on in the way they were designed to.
