Vagabond’s journey began in the 1970s, designing boat shoes for men. Over the years, our brand has evolved, embracing a wide collection of styles worn by people all across the globe. Now, nearly 50 years later, we revisit our roots with a refined take on the very first design.

The Journey of an Icon

As the name suggests, the boat shoe was initially designed for life at sea. Over time, fashion has embraced the style, transforming it into a timeless favourite. Yet, looking closely, traces of its nautical heritage can be found in the design.

The 360° lacing was originally designed to keep the foot secure, offering a firm fit and grip when sailing rough waters; today, the lacing system remains a distinct design feature. With its moc toe seam and thick leather laces, the style has always been identified as a core in the preppy wardrobe - but with time, it has nestled its way into the collections of individuals worldwide.  

This season, we reintroduce the timeless design. The collection reflects our contemporary DNA while staying true to the style’s heritage feel. Fronting the collection are Editions Jay and Joslyn - two refined styles with a shared archive feel. As part of the launch, we have collaborated with selected profiles, each bringing their unique approach to everyday wear.
