Shoe Care guide
To ease the strain on our environment, we want to make sure our shoes last by taking extra good care of them. Along with our Shoe Care guide, our selection of shoe care products is an important step in our continuous work to minimize and replace chemicals with less environmentally harmful substances. 1. Clean
Start by cleaning your shoes to create a blank canvas for the following shoe care products. Use a shoe brush to remove excess dirt, followed by a damp cloth or shoe cleaner.
2. Care
The second step is to refresh and nourish the shoes with a suitable product; use a shoe cream, wax or suede renovator depending on the material. Let the cream set for at least 24 hours before use.
3. Protect
The third step is crucial to protect the shoes from dirt and dampness and to create water-repellent protection. Use a water-based protection spray for any material.
4. Store
When you are not using your shoes, wipe them off and keep them in their shoe box or in your shoe closet for storage. Use a shoe tree, they will help maintain the shape of your shoes.

Oily leather
This leather is treated with oil during the material preparation and/or in the finishing process.
Material care: start by cleaning the dry shoes with a soft shoe brush and use the shoe cleaner to remove dirt and restore the finish. After this, follow up with shoe wax to provide strong protection against water and dirt. Or use a shoe cream to moisturize the leather and finish off with a water-based protection spray like our Waterproofer.
Soft leather
Regular soft leather lasts a long time if kept from being dehydrated.
Material care: clean your dry shoes with a soft brush and use shoe cleaner to remove dirt and restore the finish. Apply shoe cream which provides both gentle nourishment and restores the colour. Leave to dry, then polish the surface with a shoe brush. Lastly, use a water-based protection spray like our Waterproofer or wax instead of shoe cream for an even stronger protection.
Nubuck
Nubuck has a sanded, matte surface which gives it that natural, velvety finish and nice patina over time. Oiled or waxed nubuck also has water-repellent abilities, that still need to be maintained with the proper shoe care.
Material care: clean the dry shoes with a soft shoe brush and use shoe cleaner to remove dirt and restore the matte finish. Apply shoe renovator to nourish the leather. As a final step, use a water-based protection spray like our Waterproofer. Leave to dry for 24 hours.
Suede
The suede is either split leather or the back side of the leather, which is then treated to get a soft, velvety finish. This material is sensitive to water and attracts dirt easily - therefore it is essential to care for your suede shoes regularly.
Material care: clean the dry shoes with a suede brush and use shoe cleaner to remove excess dirt and restore the finish. Apply shoe renovator in a suitable colour to nourish the leather. Lastly, finish off with a water-based protection spray.
